2004 The information society makes large amounts data available in databases and as hypertext on the web. This information can be hard to access for a large portion of the population which is not power-users of such technology.

2002 New solutions may improve the everyday life of children with diabetes type 1 and their families. The Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine (NST) is running a project with wireless and automatic transfer of blood glucose data, especially for children and youth who have type 1 diabetes.

2003 This project aims to exemplify new tools and methods for patient self management and easier access to existing education services. These new tools and methods should be easy available and user adapted.

Digital TV and patient information

2003 The projects objective is to explore the potential of Digital TV, in reaching patients and the health interested community, with information by lexical text, presented on the TV.

Eczema counselling via the internet - a randomized controlled trial

2005 The project will survey if internet based counselling directly home to the parents of children with atopic eczema leads to improvement of the children's health, and if the parents feel increased management of their children's disease.

2002 In cooperation with the Norwegian Industrial and Regional development Fund (SND), the Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine initiated development of future perspectives on the home care and nursing sector during 5 to 10 years from now.

2002 The objective of this study is to evaluate the advantages of implementating electronic patient records and mobile units, and identify factors that hinder or promote the implementation of mobile care in a typical Norwegian municipality.

Improved use of blood glucose data

2007 We are designing a system which makes it possible for people with diabetes to use their blood glucose readings in a better way than today, reducing long-term diabetes complications and avoiding unpleasant and even dangerous situations of hypoglycaemia.

1999 The project investigated interaction patterns in Norwegian online discussion forums related to mental health. Two studies were performed. MyHealth@Age - Improved Health, Safety and Well being for Elderly People living in Northern Periphery regions

2008 Many elderly people feel unsafe outside their homes. This limits their social contacts and physical activities. MyHealth@Age aims to provide products and services to make it possible for elderly people to feel safer and live a more active and healthy life.

MyHealthService - personal healthcare technology and services for elderly chronically ill

2007 In the project MyHealthStation in 2005, NST, Well, UNN and Norut designed and developed a prototype of a system for home based training, self-management and following-up of patients/chronically ill over broadband networks.

2006 NST is updating and evaluating the net-based interactive smoking cessation program Opptur (available from here).

Palestine Telemedicine Rehabilitation Network

2006 This project will aim to establish the first National Telemedicine Rehabilitation Network in Palestine. The network will link the four national rehabilitation centers in Palestine to each other and to relevant rehabilitation centers abroad.
