Get-together Monday 9 June at Fjellheisen

Meet the other conference participants at Tromsø’s most spectacular viewpoint. From Fjellheisen at about 400 meters above sea level, you can see the whole city, its fjords and jagged peaks.

Weather permitting, you may enjoy hours of evening sun above Kvaløya to the west while you are enjoying the company of fellow participants and tapas dishes - North Norwegian style.

The get-together starts at eight in the evening, and you may take the cable car up to Fjellheisen, starting from Solliveien (Solli road) in Tromsdalen. A bus will take you from the city centre over to the mainland. If you choose to walk from the city centre, this should take you about half an hour.

Hiking up to Fjellheisen

For those of a rougher disposition, we can offer a guided hike up to Fjellheisen, taking a path that first turns south, offering a grand view of the fjords and mountains to the south, before turning northwards again to the get-together. This hike should take us an hour and a half at the most, and you should bring sturdy hiking boots and a windproof jacket.

We will be starting the hike from the cable car ground station at 6.30 in the afternoon. You can register for the hike when you register for the conference on Monday. You may take the chartered bus from SAS Radisson at 6.15 pm. Please bring some extra socks and a warm, dry shirt for changing when we get to Fjellheisen.

The get-together is included in the conference registration fee.

Conference banquet Tuesday 10 June

Starting with an aperitif at 7.30 p.m. there will be served fish or meat in “Tromsøsal” at Radisson SAS, depending on your choice on the registration form when you sign up for the conference.

The fish course will be Catfish Norwegienne with a cream sauce, shrimps, mussels, vegetables and almond potatoes. For the meat course, we have chosen beef sirloin with herb butter, vegetables and baked potatoes. Dessert is of course included.

The banquet is not included in the conference fee and will cost 795 Norwegian kroner.
