Scholl, Jeremiah

I received a Ph.D. from the Computer Science and Electrical Engineering department at Luleå University of Technology in Oct. 2005. My current research topics are pervasive communication devices for clinicians and the integration of live video from mobile phones into medical emergency call centers.
Name: Jeremiah Scholl
Field of work: Computer Science
Educated: Luleå University of Technology

Biography

My doctoral dissertation is titled Technology for Supporting Informal Communication in Multimedia Conferencing Systems and includes interdisciplinary research from fields such as computer networking and human computer interaction.

One of the primary features of my doctoral work was the way in which I conducted prototype-driven research in collaboration with industry.  This allowed me to target real-world scenarios and applications, and gave me the opportunity to fully integrate my research prototypes into a commercial product. This was possible because of a partnership with Marratech AB, a Swedish software company that specializes in multimedia conferencing systems, and through participation in projects with the Centre for Distance Spanning Technology, an organization dedicated to applied research and entrepreneurship.
