Privacy protection restricts patient rights

Are we going to such lengths to protect the privacy of personal data that it affects the patient's rights? The question was posed by Dr James Kass from the European Space Agency in his presentation during the Tromsø Telemedicine and eHealth Conference 2004.

Facts about TTeC 2004:

The Tromsø Telemedicine and eHealth Conference took place from 21 to 23 June 2004. It was the fifth time that the Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine in Tromsø organized the conference, which gathered 300 participants from 23 countries for three days in 2004. The theme for the year was the public's participation in the development of eHealth and the challenges faced by researchers, technologists and health professionals in this connection.
