Pressbriefing eHealth Trends 2005-2007

During the open session of the 4th eHealth Trends workshop in Aveiro, Portugal, an overview of the project results was presented. The use of the Internet for health purposes is increasing in all countries included in the study. There is a digital divide in Europe: Internet use is more frequent in northern and central Europe, followed by eastern and southern Europe respectively. The digital divide is influencing the use of e-health Health related use of the Internet: The divide seems to be diminishing as relative growth in e-health is larger in southern Europe. Further, feelings of relief are more common than feelings of anxiety in the population. The powerpoint can be uploaded here.
