Tromsø Telemedicine and eHealth Conference 2004:

Patient style as a building block in the health services

Technological development, in the health sector as in other areas, is often driven by assumptions or conditions that do not make allowances for the fact that people have different needs and wishes. So a survey of people's differences as patients could provide insight into how we should organize technological health services.
Patient styles can be seen in the context of the development in the way we think about the relationship between doctor and patient, explained Professor Bas Verplanken during his presentation at the Tromsø Telemedicine and eHealth Conference.

Facts about TTeC 2004:

The Tromsø Telemedicine and eHealth Conference took place from 21 to 23 June 2004. It was the fifth time that the Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine in Tromsø organized the conference, which gathered 300 participants from 23 countries for three days in 2004. The theme for the year was the public's participation in the development of eHealth and the challenges faced by researchers, technologists and health professionals in this connection.
