Workshops

In addition to the TTeC conference programme, a number of workshops (workgroup meetings) will be arranged. These workshops will be open to all registered TTeC participants, unless otherwise stated. All workshops will have a limited number of participants.

TeleDermatology: international developments and quality aspects

This workshop consists of two parts: Part 1 (TeleMedicine; an international review) and Part 2 (Standards for quality in telemedicine applications). International developments and quality aspects of telemedicine applications and teledermatology in particular are discussed.

European network on eHealth consumer trends

The project 'WHO/European eHealth Consumer Trends' is a study on eHealth use and uptake in seven European countries, and this workshop is addressing the issues of the ‘new patients’ and the eHealth response from the health care system, services and policies.

Situational feedback for enhancing patient self-management using mobile phones

Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) has shown to enhance self-management in terms of successful cognitive and behavioural coping in a number of patients with medically unexplained symptoms such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and fibromyalgia, but effects on pain and social functioning seem less convincing.

Telehomecare, chronic patients and user-driven innovation

'Telehomecare, chronic patients and the integrated healthcare system (TELECAT – project)’ applies the user-driven innovation to develop wireless telehomecare technology enabling COPD patients to perform self-monitoring of their status and to maintain rehabilitation activities in their homes. The aim of the workshop is to discuss the use and combination of different methods for user driven innovation in a cross-disciplinary setting.

Ambient Assisted Living Joint Programme, 2008-2013 (AAL)

Tuesday 15:30-17:30, Tromsøsal 3
AAL is a new European technology and innovation funding programme involving 22 countries. AAL addresses the needs of the ageing population and the role of ICT in prolonging an active and independent life. The aim of the workshop is to present the work programme and first call, and discuss future challenges for AAL, from business models to changing demands for products and services among Europeans 65+.


Wireless patients – something for future healthcare?

Wireless healthcare is an initiative to promote and stimulate the development and use of new applications within ICT and medical technology in the healthcare sector. Wireless systems and biomedical sensors are focus areas.

HL7 Standards Take-up for Innovative eHealth Services

This workshop aims at creating awareness regarding the presence of HL7 standards in the context of current and future requirements for eHealth. A presentation will be drawing from success stories and best practices in Europe and worldwide.

AAL from an Healthcare Point-of-view

This workshop aims at bringing together a panel of experts in the healthcare area to take a deep and well-informed look at what is AAL today and to propose some well supported directions for its future. Representatives from fields such as home care administration, nursing, medicine and public health are invited to participate.

Open Innovation in eHealth - building a global R&D ecosystem

The workshop will present some of the world leading eHealth R&D projects, communities and ecosystems committed to the use of open innovation and open source software. The workshop will be wrapped up in a discussion on how to organize future work on a global basis.
