Centre of expertise for telemedicine in Norway

Telemedicine is the use of ICT for collaboration on health purposes. It is about moving or exchanging patient information instead of the patient. Telemedicine can also give patients the opportunity to have direct contact with health professionals from their own home via computer, mobile phone or TV.

The Norwegian Ministry of Health acknowledges NST as a national centre of expertise in the field of telemedicine. This means that NST will work towards securing a national competence training within our specified field of work. As a centre of expertise it is not our job to treat patients, but in some cases patient treatment can be tied to our organization.
