Quality assurance of health related services on the Internet. A website for people using the Internet for health purposes.
Background
There is a plethora of health related web-sites on the Internet. It is, however, our experience that the users/consumers/patients are uncertain of the quality, and need some guidance to improve their ability to consider the quality of the sites. Besides, a lot of providers are eager to make good quality web sites, and are asking for supervision.
The project Health E-Wise
The project has two main objectives:
- To make a web-site for users with suggestions and tips that may be useful when analysing online health information and health services. (Some of it translated here)
- To make guidelines for providers that might be useful when establishing health related services on the Internet.
Status
The web-site for users was launched 15 November 2001 (http://www.helse-vett.no/).
