Gammon D.
Tromsø Telemedicine Conference 2003 (Abstract)
Citizen participation in e-health:"How should health care organisations, technologies and research respond?"

Citizens are grasping e-health technologies as a tool for addressing health issues throughout all phases of their personal and family lives from prevention to illness and rehabilitation. Studies indicate thate-health technologies facilitate people taking more active roles as demanding consumers of health care services. Many government policies appear to encourage this trend.

This presentation will touch on various studies illuminating citizens' use of e-health and potential implications for ORGANIZATIONS, technologies and research. Both positive and negative visions for the future will be outlined, as well as central issues needing attention. The presentation theme is synonymous with the title of the Tromsø Telemed Conference to be held in June 2004.
