Project descriptionThe PhD study consists of 2 separate projects. We want to integrate clinical studies with the development of new telemedical solutions, in order to improve the flow of patients at a gastrosurgical unit.OnkolinkIn ”Onkolink”, we want to do a randomly controlled study on post-surgical follow-up of patients with colon cancer. The patients will be randomised for controls by their own GPs or at the surgical out-patients’ clinic at the hospital. The main focus of the study will be quality of life for patients, cost-benefit and the potential for serious clinical incidents. During the project period, we will develop an electronic controlcard for this group of patients. One StopIn the project called ”One Stop” we want to do a randomly controlled study on standardised electronic referrals to outpatient surgery. Our hypothesis is that you can bypass the outpatients’ clinic and bring the patients directly to surgery by using standardised referrals from the GPs. The main focus of this study will be cost-benefit and the number of patients that are rejected in the outpatients’ surgery using this method.Contact informationKnut Magne Augestad, telephone +47 974 99 442 and email knut.magne.augestad@telemed.no | |
