Associate professor in telemedicine

University of Tromsø invites applicants for two positions as associate professor in Medical Informatics and Telemedicine.
The successful candidates are expected to contribute to research in medical informatics and telemedicine and teaching courses at the international 2 years master program in telemedicine and e-health.

 The positions are in the Medical Informatics and Telemedicine group (MIT) at the Department of Computer Science at the Faculty of Science. The research in the MIT group is experimentally and focuses on different aspects of electronic health records, systems for automatic health surveillance, and telemedicine and telecare systems for private homes. The research is closely connected to the Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine.

 The successful candidates shall contribute to the development of the Department's teaching and research activities within medical informatics and telemedicine, including supervising of M.Sc. and Ph.D. students and teaching courses at the international 2 years master program in telemedicine and e-health. The teaching language is English. The Department seeks applicants with a track record in experimental research within medical informatics and/or telemedicine.

 In the evaluation of the applicants' qualifications, importance will be attached to documented scientific and experimental competence in medical informatics and telemedicine, primarily within the areas covered by the MIT group. Applicants with experimental competence in telemedicine will be given priority.
