Why I study telemedicine…

Simple solutions can make a huge diference in the quality of life of everyone. Telemedicine is one of the research ares where one can make a big difference, providing important solutions for problems everyone might face.

Tromsø came as a natural choice for studying telemedicine, given a international research colaboration with a top university, in a dynamic, ambitious laboratory such as TTL.

Northern Norway is a excellent place to research telemedicine, the social and geography scenario is unic in the world, providing all the ingredients for a success story. And, of course, the chance to work and live in one of the most catching landscapes in the world.

I am currently working on…

Understanding the importance and potential of sensor based data acquisition on the treatment and care of chronic patients, with focus on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Cystic Fibrosis.

My ideas about the future of health care…

Telemedicine solutions will be part of everyone daily life in the medium term. We will design, implement and disseminate systems that will provide better quality of life, better treatment keeping the human factor of treatment in the central seat.

My greatest source of inspiration is…

The sense of participating in state of the art research in a essential topic.
